The State Dance Theater of Kalmykia “Oiraty” is a well—known collective, led by the great choreographer Peter Nadbitov, traveled all over the world and, as a result of these trips, learned how to perform dances of peoples of different countries. Those who have seen the concert program of the Oiraty Dance Theater can make sure that this dance group performs not only the national dances of the steppe nomads (Kalmyks), but also the peoples of India, Ukraine, Tibet, China, Taiwan, Korea, Scotland, Mongolia, Bashkiria, Italy, Spain, Kyrgyzstan, the Caucasus, etc.
A fabulous, colorful spectacle directed by Nadbitov, consisting of 40 artists, including a musical orchestra playing both classical and national instruments (bayan, Saratov accordion, shanz, yochin, mern khur, bass guitar, etc.); singers and, of course, dancers and dancers dressed in luxurious outfits.
It is worth noting that the total volume of costumes and props that the theater carries during the tour is about 2 tons.
