On March 1, the largest youth event in the world, the World Youth Festival, will kick off on the territory of the Sirius Federal Territory. The global event will bring together 20,000 young leaders from various fields in Russia, as well as 10,000 from abroad. Among the participants will be a delegation from Kalmykia.
The participants will be able to meet each other, get a unique opportunity to communicate personally with experts, and see personalities of global stature. The festival will provide an exceptional platform for establishing friendly connections and will broaden the participants’ horizons, which will help them in their personal and professional growth, the organizers note.
It should be noted that the World Youth Festival is being held by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Last spring, he instructed to develop measures for the preparation and holding of the event.
It is also noteworthy that during the festival, Sochi International Airport will serve as a venue for the exhibition concept of the regions. The Kalmykia stand will be centrally located. It is divided into several thematic zones reflecting the cultural and economic characteristics.
The festival will showcase the national cultural code of the steppe republic, featuring various master classes that will introduce visitors to Kalmyk culture, customs, everyday life, and folklore.
In addition, visitors will be introduced to Buddhism, as a Buddhist summit will be held in Kalmykia next year. The region’s agrarian and industrial potential will also be presented, along with investment proposals.
